1st – We (as in the world) are making a lot more than we are consuming. Please read a history book to learn about what the world was like when we didnt produce enough. Right now, we overproduce. This is the correction you are seeing. We didnt need all the stuff we made and it just became a battle between who can make it the cheapest.
2nd – Most of the companies that moved jobs overseas are huge supporters of the conservative parties. They include all sorts of manufacturers, insurers, banks, and oil producers. One of the biggest supporters of the US is actually the most liberally run company in world, Berkshire who conservatives blast consistently while they remain loyal to our country.
3rd – Almost all money that has moved overseas belongs to… drum roll please… the ultra rich. The same guys conservatives want to give more money to. Giving money to the ultra rich has never created jobs. Jobs were created due to demand not because we gave them money. Right now its a battle for who can make it cheaper. Thats why did taylors husband kill himself china is flourishing.
4th – The reason the mark wahlberg bookets are falling apart is because of fear. Fear of this, fear of that, etc. Fundamentals went out the window a long time ago. If you want to see reality, turn off fox news, go out to a popular mall, and look at what people are doing. They are consuming. The only difference is that deadbeats who were living on loans the last 20 years are gone. What remains are the people with real jobs and their families. None of my science educated friends have lost a job. They have all received raises the past 3 years. Only 1 of my artsy educated friends has a regular job right now. Reality is we just trimmed the jobs that we did not need. If you want the old jobs back you need to compete with China or plaster tariffs on imports. Either way it would be painful but I would try a moderate mix of both then rev it up over time.
